NASHVILLE — Silver Creek finished second to Warren Central in the big-school race at Saturday’s Brown County Eagle Classic.

Preston Coots led the effort for the Dragons with a seventh place finish in 18:57. Ashton Still was 11th and Gavin Clark finished 18th.

“Placing second in a field of 24 quality teams was just a great effort by the boys,” Silver Creek coach Darrell Kingery said. “We had a good week of practice and it showed in the race today.”

The Silver Creek girls were seventh in the AA race. Grace Sherrow ran a 23:34 to cross the line 30th. Rosie Grady and Grace Grady were 40th and 45, respectively.

“All the girls ran outstanding races today,” Kingery said. “There was more mud and water on the course than I have seen in over 30 years. The girls didn’t let that bother them and all ran well.”
