SELLERSBURG — Jaclyn Emly led a balanced Silver Creek attack in the Dragons’ 80-40 win against visiting Rock Creek on Monday.

Silver Creek (2-0), which led 18-10 at the first stop before pulling away with a 24-12 advantage in the second, had 12 different players score in the win. The Dragons held the Lions to 18 points after the half.

“After a sluggish start to the game, we adjusted our pressure sequence at halftime and the energy level improved,” Silver Creek coach Scott Schoen said. “I thought we played well after intermission.”

Rock Creek’s Abby Guidrey led all scorers with 23 points. The Lions (0-2) travel to Austin on Thursday.

The Dragons go to Seymour on Friday evening.

“Our goal is to continue to improve each game and be obsessed with the details,” Schoen said. “We have several players who can step up which makes it interesting in practice. We tell our girls you earn playing time by the way you practice — your effort and your defense.”
