PEKIN — For Silver Creek coach John Dablow, his second visit to Pekin as a Dragon went just as well as the first. Creek has now beaten Eastern three straight times and twice in Pekin under Dablow, the former Musketeer head coach.

The Dragons pounded Eastern with 309 rushing yards in their 33-7 win on Friday. The Dragon attack was led by senior quarterback Josh Landers, who rushed for 138 yards on 10 touches and a touchdown. Landers was solid under center. He was 4-for-5 with 70 yards passing, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Freshman Easton Messer carried it six times for 82 yards and a touchdown and Heath Knight added the Dragons’ final touchdown.

Jacob Graf was the Dragons leading receiver with two grabs for 48 yards and a touchdown. Garren Bauer also snagged two balls for 22 yards and scored on a 9-yard toss from Landers.

Silver Creek improves to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in MSC play. The Dragons are back home next Friday when they welcome Scottsburg.
