Girls Varsity Softball · Softball: Teague, Lady Dragons Win 2nd Straight Conference Title on “Perfect” Note

AUSTIN — Silver Creek’s Camryn Teague threw her first perfect game Wednesday in a 22-0 Mid-Southern Conference win at Austin.

Teague struck out 12 of the 15 Eagles she faced as the Dragons completed conference play unbeaten and improved to 18-8 overall.

“She was on from the start,” Creek coach Nate Gibson said. “She had an extra pop tonight. She was very, very good from the first pitch to the last pitch. It was something special, really. It doesn’t happen very often.”

The Dragons, who scored 21 runs in the first three innings, got big nights offensively from Abby Whitlock and Kira Gibson. Whitlock had three doubles, drove in five runs and scored three times. Gibson went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double.

“We’re playing good ball right now,” Coach Gibson said. “It’s good to see us playing better heading into the sectional. It’s going to be a tough sectional.”

The Dragons face North Harrison next Wednesday in the first round of the sectional at Corydon Central.
