Girls Varsity Softball · Softball: Lady Dragons Get Comeback Win Over Panthers

NORTH VERNON — Silver Creek beat Jennings County for the first time in program history Wednesday.

The 20th-ranked Dragons are now 7-2 on the season after defeating the Panthers 5-3.

“It was a very big win,” Creek coach Nathan Gibson said. “We executed the game plan and it worked out for us.”

The Dragons overcame a 3-0 deficit behind the pitching of Camryn Teague and the offense — and base running — of Jordan Balz and Alisha Harbold.

Teague went the distance and struck out ten. None of the three Panther runs were earned.

“She was on tonight,” Gibson said. “When she’s hitting on all cylinders, five or six runs will win us a ball game every day. She had an ‘it’ factor and she just wasn’t going to get beat.”

Balz and Harbold combined for seven hits and seven stolen bases.
