Girls Soccer: Lady Dragons Knock Off Salem

SELLERSBURG — Silver Creek scored seven first-half goals in an 8-0 win over Salem on Tuesday.

The Dragons improve to 9-0-1 overall with the win, including a 2-0 mark in the Mid-Southern Conference.

Silver Creek coach Patrick Anderson said he had some concern going into the match about Salem’s defense, but his team’s patience allowed for success.

Maggie Day led the way on offense with two goals and an assist. Alyssa Wright also had two goals. Ciera May, Grace Grady and Sydney Corbin had one goal each.

“Maggie and Alyssa did a great job up front and the rest of the offense kept the ball moving as we switched the point of attack,” Anderson said. “Our defense played well too. They really limited their chances to counter attack and turned the ball around quickly to return it to our offense.”
